Twelve sections, explained

Here's what each part of the contract covers, in the order your client reads it.

    Who's who in the contract, and which services the terms cover.

    How your services work
    What your client confirms when they book, if dates aren't held without payment, and extra services on the day.
  3. 03
    Payments
    How clients can pay, cleared funds by the due date, and what happens when a payment is missed.
  4. 04
    Additional fees
    Travel, late starts, extra long hair, extensions, public holidays and more, with a blank for your price.
  5. 05
    Cancellations and refunds
    Notice periods for refunds, when you can cancel, what happens if you can't make it, plus force majeure.
  6. 06
    Rescheduling
    How much notice clients need to give, your rescheduling fee and any public holiday surcharge.
  7. 07
    Agreement for your services
    What your client agrees to, like telling you about allergies, arriving with their hair prepared and giving you a safe place to work.
  8. 08
    Photo consent
    Permission to use photos of your client in your marketing, and how they can withdraw it.
  9. 09
    Liability and disclaimer
    Reactions from anything a client didn't tell you about, and how the Australian Consumer Law applies.
  10. 10
    Indemnity
    Claims that come from a client breaking the terms.
  11. 11
    Governing law and disputes
    Talking it through first, then dispute resolution, under the laws of your state.
  12. 12
    Final declaration
    The client's confirmation that they've read and agree to the terms, with a signature and date.
Photo Consent

By agreeing to these terms, you give us permission to take photographs of you and/or to contact your photographer to request access to images of you for use in our marketing and promotional materials, including but not limited to our website, social media, and portfolio.

Is this legal advice?
No. It's a template written for Australian hair and makeup artists, and it refers to the Australian Consumer Law. Once you've made it yours, have a lawyer check it complies with the laws where you work.
I'm not in Australia. Can I still use it?
You can start from it, but a few parts refer to Australian law, so have a local lawyer adapt it to the laws where you work.
What do I get when I buy?
